Decarbonisation is the mainstay of sustainable and smart urban mobility strategies, which rely on innovative solutions, sound policies, and effective partnerships to achieve climate-neutral transportation. Enhancing Resilience in Inland Waterways: An Overview of PLOTO’s Key Exploitable results

The PLOTO project is dedicated to bolstering the resilience of European inland waterways (IWW), leading the technological drive by operating, testing, and demonstrating in three pilot sites located in Belgium, Romania, and Hungary. DfT: £4.65 million for bus operators to help disabled passengers travel with confidence

Disabled passengers are set to navigate buses with greater ease, thanks to almost £5 million being made available to roll out audible and visual announcements throughout Great Britain. In the latest of a string of initiatives to improve accessibility across public transport, applications have today (8 April 2024) opened for small bus and coach operators to bid for a share of £4.65 million to install state-of-the-art technology that will both display and announce information clearly for all passengers, including those with sight and hearing impairments. EU institutions commit to boost cycling across Europe

Earlier this month, on 3rd April, the EU took another important step in reducing transport emissions by adopting the European Declaration on Cycling. In the margins of the Informal Transport European Council and the Connecting Europe Days, Adina Vălean, Commissioner for Transport, signed the declaration together with Karima Delli, Chair of the Transport Committee of the European Parliament and Georges Gilkinet, Deputy Prime Minister of Belgium.  This also aligns with the Belgian Council Presidency’s objective to decarbonise the EU’s transport sector.
